Formaldehyde – invisible, odourless at low concentrations

Formaldehyde is released from flooring, laminate, MDF furniture, adhesives, paints and varnishes. It is classified as a carcinogen by the WHO. In newly built or renovated premises, concentrations can exceed the norm for months.

Most activated carbon absorbs formaldehyde – but holds it temporarily and releases it back when saturated. The ColdFire™ catalyst breaks it down irreversibly: the molecule is destroyed, not stored.
